What I Learned from Losing a Brand I Built — and How I’m Choosing to Rebuild With Integrity

I never imagined I’d write something like this.
For years, I poured my energy, my identity, and my purpose into building a brand that represented community, travel, and growth. I created spaces where people from all over the world could feel free, connected, and inspired. And then, one day — it was gone.
I lost it all.
Not because of a business failure, but because of a story I didn’t tell… and a silence I chose.
There was a time when my name was associated with something I built with love. Later, it was associated with something else — a narrative I didn’t shape, but one that shaped how others saw me. In the face of assumptions, misunderstandings, and judgments, I chose not to fight. Not out of guilt, but because I didn’t believe defending myself publicly was the path to peace. And maybe, part of me thought it would pass.
But in the age of AI and social media, nothing passes. It lingers. Especially when the story is one-sided, emotional, and dramatic. Especially when it fits a familiar template people want to believe. And I learned — the hard way — that silence isn’t always strength. Sometimes it’s just absence. And absence becomes guilt in the world’s eyes.
So this is me, not staying silent anymore.
This is not a reaction, a defense, or an attack. It’s a chapter I should’ve written sooner.
Was I perfect? No.
Was I kind? Often.
Was I misunderstood? Deeply.
Did I do something that deserved to erase years of effort, kindness, and integrity? I don’t believe so — and if you know me, I don’t think you believe that either.
I walked away from what I built.
I didn’t fight for the name, the brand, or the followers.
I started over — with no headlines, no revenge, and no bitterness.
Today, I’m building again. With more clarity, less ego, and a commitment to hospitality that’s deeper than ever.
With Surfila for the rising surfer community around India, Chai Curry Travel in India, and J Startup House in Jaipur — I’m creating experiences rooted in truth, soul, and community.
This isn’t a comeback.
It’s just me — continuing.
On my terms. With integrity.
And if you’ve ever felt silenced, misjudged, or erased… I see you.
Let your story rise again. Quietly. Fully. Honestly.
Because that’s how truth lives on.
